Finished a poem.
Did my online class for Classic Hollywood Film Structure.
Read a lot of Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin.
Watched When Harry Met Sally. (For the first time and loved it.)
Read Bohemians by George Saunders.
Met up with my buddy Brian for a bit.
Kind of weird, I thought today would be terrible.
I woke up and planned on getting on my usual 10:08 am bus to school, allowing me enough time to go to the library and print up some poems I had to critique.
The bus was 25 minutes late, and the driver was the slowest person I’d ever seen drive a bus. He literally took 45 seconds after someone got on (at green lights too!) before starting to drive again. What should have been a 17 minute transit took nearly 30. Then the bus friggin’ broke down at Diversey and Southport, so I got off and had to hurry to get to class, and had to half ass my critiques, but the poems luckily were relatively short, so it wasn’t so bad.
About to read The Royal Palms by Matthew Klam, drink another beer, and call it a night.
